THE HISTORY
It all starter over half a century ago, when Mr. Domenico Gioia bought from an Italo-American man a grocery, in which he not only sold several products but he was also used to roast raw coffee, to create handicraft blends and handmade packaging.
So far, passion and devotion for this activity have not changed: they have favoured the continuous technological innovation research, without omit the usual care that has always marked the company in the creation of very high qualities blends.
Thanks to the quality of its products, the company is nowadays present in more than 40 countries of all the five continents, including East Europe, Middle East and Mediterranean area’s countries, taking advantage of the opportunities offered to PMI to expand among difficult markets.
In years the company has been subject of several secretary transformations and the whole Caffè Domenico Gioia s.r.l. production and commercialization activity has been absorbed by Labcaffè s.r.l., a
a company of the same group created in 2002 with the purpose to reorganize the distribution of the mother company and which includes the second and third generation of the Gioia Family.

PRODUCTION
The need for product quality means that Caffè Gioia privileges production in its own factories, located in the Campania region, where the culture of high quality coffee has always been deeply rooted, which today is rewarding on the market; as such, the company, which owns production plants covering an area of about 8000 square meters, has invested in technologically advanced systems, equipped with a system that performs the "ecological roasting" of raw coffee which allows the beans to be roasted uniformly from the heart to the outside, thus obtaining a sweeter and more aromatic drink in the cup. The ecological roasting of coffee takes place through flows of 100% clean hot air that preheat the green coffee to prevent it from undergoing thermal shocks at the time of roasting, and in the total absence of combustion fumes, contrary to what happens in traditional probing machines. The products are placed in the medium-high segment, thanks to the selection and skilful dosage in the blends of the finest Arabica and Robusta coffees and to the meticulousness and craftsmanship of the processing. Since its establishment, the company has always been oriented towards the continuous search for quality, starting with the selection of the finest Arabica and Robusta coffees from the main producing countries of South America, Central and Caribbean America, Africa. and Asia. The pride of the company since 1997 is (Caffè Domenico Gioia Srl was among the first companies in southern Italy to produce paper pods and in 1998 among the founding members of the ESE Consortium) the packaging of coffee pods in filter paper single-dose, in the 44mm, 38mm format, double pod, ribbon and compatible with senseo system machines. Today the single-dose range has been further expanded and also includes biodegradable plastic capsules and capsules compatible with the most common extraction systems (Nespresso *, Lavazza Espresso Point *, Lavazza Blue *, Lavazza A Modo Mio *, Aroma Vero *, Dolce Gusto *, Uno System *, Esse *, Caffitaly *.
Numerous certifications obtained over the years and in particular HACCP, Gosstandardt for products destined for the domestic market of the Russian Federation, organic product certification, BRC food safety certification, FDA for the US market and various other international product certifications, and has been implementing the UNI EN ISO 9001 certified quality management system for years. Furthermore, all products in the coffee line comply with Jewish food standards and have received Kosher certification.
In 2018 Caffè Gioia received two important awards, the COFFEES FROM PERU brand of origin and the SUPERIOR TASTE AWARD, the latter confirmed also in 2019 and 2020 by the International Taste Institute of Brussels.
